Advancing Biomedical Research at MaineHealth
Dear Friends,
In 2024 our research community had a lot to be proud of in advancing MaineHealth’s mission of Researching new ways to provide care. I hope all MaineHealth care team members have an opportunity to review some of the stories shared for 2024, and appreciate how each and every person at MaineHealth contributes to this mission. Special thanks to all of the people who have participated as a subject in a clinical trial or investigation, to all of our community who have engaged in providing input to guide our researchers, and to all of our benefactors who have contributed to supporting our research efforts.
While 2024 was an exciting year for research at MaineHealth, 2025 promises to be even better! We look forward to welcoming Dr. Jessica Chertow, PhD, MBA as our new Vice President for Research. Dr. Chertow will be joining us from the National Institutes of Health intramural program in Bethesda, Maryland. We also look forward to developing a roadmap for research growth and support at MaineHealth as we engage in strategic recruitment efforts.
Sincerely,
Doug Sawyer, MD, PhD
