Inside Medical Education’s Inclusive Culture Committee

Our Inclusive Culture Committee was formed to harness the energy, enthusiasm and ideas of the Department of Medical Education team members to advance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in a coordinated and comprehensive way. Through their vision and work, three primary focus areas were established:

  • Recruitment and retention
  • Culture, climate and community
  • Education

Priorities and themes that cut across these areas include pathway programs, communications and marketing. The committee initially included a broad group to ensure that all voices were represented. As the work has evolved, the group has shifted to a role of a steering committee to provide oversight, guidance and a forum for bringing together the meaningful work that is happening across the department.
